Religious heritage

The Upper Vipava Valley is steeped in an incredibly rich religious heritage, with a church in virtually every village. Along a 15-kilometer stretch from Črniče to Podnanos, there are dozens of churches, chapel shrines and ornamented columns revealing surprisingly sophisticated artistry and craftsmanship. In Vipavski Križ, there is a still working Capuchin monastery.
