Welcome to the Sivi Čaven Inn, where the story of family dedication and authentic Vipava flavors has been written for over 130 years. Our inn is located in the embrace of the Vipava Valley, under the slopes of Čaven, where nature and tradition go hand in hand. Since its establishment at the end of the 19th century, our home has been open to travelers, locals and everyone who appreciates a warm welcome and good food. The inn was founded in 1895 and has developed over the decades together with the family, which has been running it for six generations, and each generation has brought something of its own; new recipes, modern approaches and even more love for cooking, but always with loyalty to the foundations: respect for tradition and connection with the local environment. Today, at Gostilna Sivi Čaven, we remain faithful to our grandmothers' home-made recipes, but we add a touch of modernity to them, and our kitchen still features local ingredients, seasonal produce from surrounding farms, and of course, a great deal of passion for cuisine. For us, a restaurant is not just a place where we serve food, it is a home. A home where memories meet, special moments are celebrated, and new stories are created.
